We are looking for someone who can focus on our child's exceptional academic skills and to ensure the child performs at his level which is a much higher level academically than other children his age.
We are looking for someone who can take him to and from appointments and school.
Someone who can work with him on his behavior.
Work with him on social anxiety and socializing with his peers.
Work with him on his speech and using his words to express his desires.
Experience with children on the spectrum would be ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student
- Provide instruction in various subjects, including math, language arts, science, and social studies
- Utilize learning technology and assistive devices to enhance student learning
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support student progress and development
- Monitor and assess student progress through regular assessments and evaluations
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive learning environment
- Provide support and guidance to students with behavioral or emotional challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with special needs, including those with behavioral or emotional challenges
- Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Familiarity with learning technology and assistive devices for students with special needs
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with special needs
